“Let them play their own way.”

Elena Noseda
I am a Forest School Leader, self-directed education facilitator, and innovator living with ADHD. Driven by my belief in the enchanting nature of childhood and a passion for education and rights-respecting practices, I founded the Biophilia Project.
My dedication lies in nurturing this magical phase of life within the richest environment possible: nature itself. This approach is deeply rooted in the principles of Deep Ecology, which emphasizes the intrinsic value of the natural world and our interconnectedness with it. Additionally, my work is informed by my interest in environmental psychology, recognizing how profoundly our surroundings influence mental and emotional well-being.
I actively integrate practices such as round speak, Compassionate Communication, and Nonviolent Communication, creating spaces that honor individual rights and autonomy. This commitment allows me to foster inclusive, diverse, and innovative educational environments. My holistic approach to child development respects our deep connection to the natural world and to each other.
I deliver my programs across nurseries, primary schools, and self-directed education (SDE) projects, always striving to create enriching, rights-respecting experiences for all ages.
The biophilia hypothesis, also called BET, suggests that humans possess an innate tendency to seek connections with nature and other forms of life.
Edward O. Wilson introduced and popularized the hypothesis in his book, Biophilia (1984). He defines biophilia as “the urge to affiliate with other forms of life”.
